Pulse dose concentrators are not recommended if you are a mouth breather.
Pulse dose devices are not recommended for nocturnal oxygen therapy as they may not sense shallow breathing.
It is important that you discuss with your care provider what setting to use your pulse dose model at, as the setting does not relate to the flow rate, e.g. setting 2 does not mean 2 L/min. Your care provider will use an oxygen pulse oximeter to titrate you under different levels of physical activity to make sure the setting is appropriate for your therapy.
