The Bed Slide Sheet is an essential manual handling product. The slippery material can used in a number of ways to help move patients in bed. The edges are heat sealed to help prevent fraying, meaning no sewn hems which may compromise skin integrity.Use:Fold the sheet in half and roll it under a patient, similar to fitting a draw sheet. When moving the patient, gather up the loose end of the top part of the sheet and use body weight to turn the patient. Do not use excessive movements with your arms. This product is used instead of the overhead monkey bar to help patients to sit up in bed. The pulling from the foot of the bed can be better for the patient as opposed to pulling from up above.To sit up, the patient simply pulls on the loops. If the patient cannot grip the loop, they can try placing their wrist or forearm through a loop. This should make it easier to pull themselves up.To UseLay the Bed Ladder Strap on the bed with the pulling loop placed so the patient can easily reach it. The foot end is then wrapped around the end of the bed frame. Wrap it around two or three times and then lasso in position. If it is difficult to wrap around the bed frame, the strap can be wrapped around one of the bed legs. This may mean it is slightly diagonally on the bed, but it will still work well. An option is to purchase the Middle Bed Belt (see drop down box). This allows it to be secured in the middle of the bed.The strong elastic strap sewn on to the Bed Ladder Strap should be fastened around the side of the bed frame. Alternatively tuck it under the mattress. This will enable the patient to retrieve the Strap if it is dislodged from the bed.
